In Quetta, a young man identified as Israr Ahmed has died in police custody, prompting his family to accuse authorities of murder and demand a transparent investigation.
According to the deceased’s father, Mohammad Anwar, his son was taken into custody six days ago by personnel of the Eagle Squad. He stated that he repeatedly visited various police stations seeking information about his son, but was consistently told that Israr Ahmed was not in police custody.
The father further said that he later received a phone call from the SP Sariab, who informed him that his son had allegedly died by suicide using a trouser drawstring.
Rejecting this claim, Mohammad Anwar said that his son was killed by police personnel and that the incident is now being portrayed as a suicide.
The family has called for a full and impartial probe into the incident and urged authorities to take action against those responsible.
