VBMP Protest Camp Enters 6,383rd Day; Commission Issues Notices in Bilal Ahmed Nichari Case

QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The protest camp set up by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for the 6,383rd day in front of the Quetta Press Club, where relatives of forcibly disappeared Bilal Ahmed Nichari attended.

According to the family, Bilal Ahmed Nichari, son of Manzoor Ahmed, was taken into custody on May 3, 2026, from his home at Killi Khali Maghrabi Bypass in Quetta, in front of his family, on the pretext of questioning, and then forcibly disappeared. The family said no information about Bilal has been provided so far.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances has formally assigned a number to Bilal Ahmed Nichari’s case and issued notices to the relevant institutions for his recovery. He said VBMP had already submitted Bilal’s case to the commission and the government.

Nasrullah Baloch expressed hope that the commission would play its role in the recovery of Bilal Ahmed Nichari and other forcibly disappeared persons.
