LONDON: Sarang Hyder (Sarang Sindhi), Coordinator of the Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh (VMPS) Europe Chapter, has appealed to Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtoon, Seraiki, Kashmiri and Gilgiti-Baltistani human rights activists to join a protest outside the British Prime Minister’s residence in London on Sunday, 30 August 2026.

The demonstration, organized by the Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM), will take place at 3:00 PM in front of 10 Downing Street to mark the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances. A delegation from VMPS Europe Chapter will attend to express solidarity with families of missing persons and victims of enforced disappearances.

Hyder said more than 100 Sindhi political activists are reportedly missing or being held by Pakistani security and intelligence agencies, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) among those involved. He said families and human rights organizations fear detainees may be subjected to torture, intimidation and other forms of ill-treatment. Among the cases he cited were Ayoub Kandhro, Sohail Raza Bhatti, Aijaz Gaho, Rashid Khoso, Akash Mallah and Anwer Burdi.

Hyder further said that enforced disappearances, arbitrary detention, intimidation and suppression of political dissent amount to a systematic human rights crisis. He accused Pakistani state institutions and security agencies of using coercive methods against political activists, rights campaigners, journalists, intellectuals and others who express views critical of government policy.

Hyder said the protest would not be limited to one community, describing it as a joint demonstration bringing together Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtoon, Seraiki, Kashmiri and Gilgiti-Balti voices alongside human rights defenders.

“On 30 August, oppressed communities will stand together in London with one united voice for human rights, justice, democracy, freedom of expression and the safe recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons,” Hyder said. “We call upon the international community not to remain silent while families continue to wait for answers about their loved ones.”

Hyder urged participants to demonstrate peacefully and called on British parliamentarians, journalists, human rights organizations, lawyers, and civil society representatives to demand independent and transparent investigations into the alleged abductions and enforced disappearances linked to Pakistani security agencies.
