Student Disappears from Dera Ghazi Khan, One Person Released in Quetta

Dera Ghazi Khan / Quetta: A young man has reportedly been subjected to enforced disappearance in Dera Ghazi Khan, while another previously disappeared individual has been released in Quetta.

According to sources, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel detained Muhammad Ashraf, son of Muhammad Deen, from Baloch Colony, Dera Ghazi Khan on November 2 and shifted him to an undisclosed location. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown.

Local sources said Muhammad Ashraf is the cousin of Rasheed Buzdar, a member of the Baloch Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade, who was killed in a clash with Pakistani forces in Nushki. Following Rasheed Buzdar’s death, Pakistani forces raided the family’s home and harassed the family members and relatives.

In a separate incident, Ata Anjum, a Brahui-language poet from Mastung, was also detained by Pakistani forces on the night of November 7 and has since disappeared.

Meanwhile, Shahek Qambarani, who had disappeared since November 2 from Killi Qambarani area of Quetta, has been released and returned home. The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) confirmed his release.
