Quetta: VBMP Protest Camp Continues for 5,892nd Day, Family Submits Details of Missing Saddam Hussain

The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) outside the Quetta Press Club has entered its 5,892nd day, as efforts continue for the recovery of forcibly disappeared individuals.

Today, Raheema Bibi visited the protest camp and submitted information regarding the enforced disappearance of her husband, Saddam Hussain Kurd, to the VBMP.

According to Raheema Bibi, her husband was allegedly detained without a warrant by armed personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other state agencies during the night between July 18 and 19. He was reportedly taken from their residence in Killi Habib, Faizabad, Quetta, and transferred to an undisclosed location.

She further stated that authorities have not provided any information regarding her husband’s whereabouts. When she attempted to register a First Information Report (FIR) at the Kechi Baig police station, the Station House Officer (SHO) allegedly refused to file the complaint. As a result, her family is facing immense psychological stress.

VBMP assured Raheema Bibi that the case of her husband would be presented to the Commission on Missing Persons and relevant provincial authorities. The organization also pledged to raise the issue across all available platforms to ensure his safe recovery.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch urged the government to bring any allegations against Saddam Hussain to light and produce him before a court. He emphasized that if the individual is innocent, his immediate release should be ensured in accordance with the law to relieve his family from continued anguish.
