Quetta: Army Major Killed in Bomb Blast Near Jabal al-Noor

Quetta: A senior officer of the Pakistan Army, Major Anwar Kakar, was killed in a bomb explosion on the outskirts of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, on Friday.

According to official sources, the incident occurred in the Jabal al-Noor area near Brewery Road, where unknown assailants attached a magnetic bomb to Major Anwar Kakar’s vehicle. The device detonated with a powerful blast, leaving the officer critically injured. He succumbed to his wounds at the scene.

Major Anwar Kakar, identified as the son of Haji Muhammad Akbar Khan Kakar, had previously served with the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
