BLA Executes Informant Anwar Lehri After Confirming Espionage Charges

Kalat: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for executing Anwar Lehri, who had been in the group’s custody for two months on charges of espionage. According to a statement released to the media by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, the execution was carried out on Sunday, July 13, in the Nagor Kani area of Kalat after the accused was found guilty of “national treason.”

The statement asserts that Anwar Lehri was arrested two months ago for allegedly acting as an informant for Pakistani security forces. During his detention, the BLA claims to have conducted a dual process involving both an internal investigation committee and a judicial panel. Based on the findings, the organization sentenced Anwar Lehri to death.

According to the BLA, Anwar Lehri confessed to multiple acts of betrayal, including tipping off security forces about the whereabouts of Baloch youth, aiding in enforced disappearances, and playing a role in military operations that led to the deaths of Baloch fighters. The statement further claims that he provided names of other local and non-local operatives working with the military.

The BLA says all revelations were verified through an “impartial investigative process” before carrying out the sentence.

The spokesperson warned that all informants and collaborators identified in Kalat and surrounding areas including Narmuk, Johan, Nagaho, and Nagor Kani, are now under surveillance and will face similar consequences.
