Quetta: The protest camp organized by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan has entered its 5,876th consecutive day outside the Quetta Press Club.
People from various walks of life visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of the missing.
In a statement, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch expressed serious concern over the enforced disappearance of Mahjabeen, a Baloch student, who was reportedly detained by security forces from Civil Hospital Quetta on May 29 and taken to an unknown location. He stated that Mahjabeen has neither been presented in court nor has her family been informed about her whereabouts a deeply alarming and unconstitutional act.
Chairman Nasrullah Baloch appealed to the heads of government and state institutions, urging:
“If Mahjabeen is accused of any wrongdoing, she should be produced before a court. If she is innocent, she must be released immediately. Continued silence and inaction on such unlawful detentions only further erode public trust in the rule of law.”
VBMP reiterated its long-standing demand for transparency, accountability, and legal due process in all cases of enforced disappearances and called on the state to end the culture of impunity surrounding such incidents.
