Mashkay: Body of Enforcedly Disappeared Karim Jan Recovered by Pakistani Forces

The body of Karim Jan, son of Azeem, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces from Mashkay, a tehsil of Awaran district in Balochistan, has been recovered. He was reportedly tortured and killed while in the custody of Pakistani forces.

According to local sources, Karim Jan was detained by the Pakistani military on February 22, 2025, after being summoned to their camp in Mashkay. He was then moved to an unknown location, after which he went missing. However, on Saturday, his body was handed over to his family.

This was not the first time Karim Jan was forcibly disappeared. He had previously been detained by Pakistani forces in 2023 and was released after enduring eight months of severe torture. This time, however, he was not released and became a victim of extrajudicial killing.

Since the beginning of 2025, over 20 individuals from the Mashkay area alone have been forcibly disappeared by the forces, with their bodies later recovered at different times.
