Keach Balochistan: A vehicle belonging to Pakistani security forces was targeted in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack on Friday in the Zamuran area of Kech, Balochistan. According to local sources, the incident occurred while the vehicle was on a routine patrol in the Narmuk area.
Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion, caused by a remote-controlled IED, was powerful enough to completely destroy the vehicle. Initial reports suggest that all personnel on board were either killed or seriously injured. However, no official statement has yet been released by the security forces regarding the casualties.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. In the past, Baloch insurgent groups particularly separatist organizations have taken responsibility for similar attacks in the region.
Following the explosion, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Locals have been advised to exercise caution and limit their movement in the affected zone.
It is worth noting that Balochistan has been witnessing an ongoing insurgency for several years, with frequent clashes between security forces and armed groups. Such attacks continue to highlight the complex security challenges facing the region.
