Turbat : The family of Assistant Commissioner (AC) Temp, Muhammad Hanif Noorzai, held an emergency press conference at the Turbat Press Club on Friday, appealing for his safe release and urging the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) to let him go. His brother, Guldad Noorzai, along with other family members, addressed the media and called upon all segments of society political parties, tribal elders, religious scholars, and journalists to assist in the recovery of the abducted official.
According to Guldad Noorzai, the Assistant Commissioner was abducted by unknown armed individuals on June 4, 2025, while traveling with his family from Temp to Quetta. Although his family members were released unharmed, Muhammad Hanif Noorzai remains in captivity.
Guldad described Hanif Noorzai as an honest, dutiful, and community-focused civil servant who always prioritized public service. He was traveling with minimal security accompanied by only a single guard at the time of his abduction.
The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for the abduction, though the group has not issued any demands or conditions so far.
A video circulated on social media following the incident shows Hanif Noorzai appearing unharmed. In the video, he stated that the BLF had treated his wife with dignity and released her respectfully. However, no further developments have occurred regarding his release.
The family has made an emotional appeal to the BLF, requesting that they consider humanitarian values, traditional Baloch ethics and justice in deciding to release Hanif Noorzai safely and without delay. They also urged political leaders, tribal figures, religious authorities and civil society members to play an active role in securing his freedom, stressing the ongoing distress faced by an innocent family.
