Kech: The family of Ghulam Jan, son of Saleh Muhammad, a missing police officer and resident of Umri Kohan Sami, Turbat, held a press conference at the Turbat Press Club, appealing for his recovery.

Speaking to journalists, the family stated that Ghulam Jan, who serves in the police force, was abducted by armed individuals on May 26 from Atta Shad Degree College Road upon returning from duty, and has been missing since.

They added that the family staged a week-long sit-in protest at Umri Kohan, during which, on June 17, a delegation comprising government and local representatives met with them following a Balochi Diwan (traditional assembly). The delegation included Naib Tehsildar Dasht Muhammad Amin, Major Abdul Salam, and local notables Chairman Khan Muhammad, Master Mullah Isa, and Waja Syed Muhammad.

According to the family, the delegation promised to secure Ghulam Jan’s release within a week, but to date, the promise remains unfulfilled and Ghulam Jan has not been recovered.
