Chaghi, Balochistan; A large group of armed men on Monday took control of the Levies police station and a checkpost located along the Quetta-Taftan highway in the Kuchaki and Padag Gok Aap areas of Chaghi. The assailants blocked the highway, seized a cache of weapons and set fire to official buildings and vehicles.
According to local sources, the militants stormed the Levies installations, took control of the facilities, and confiscated all available weapons and equipment. After the raid, they torched both the Levies station and the checkpost, including the government vehicles present at the sites.
Notably, the armed men did not harm any Levies personnel and allowed them to leave safely.
In the past, Baloch insurgent groups have claimed responsibility for similar operations in various regions of Balochistan, targeting state installations to seize arms and disrupt government control.
Just days earlier, a comparable incident occurred in Mastung, where armed individuals blocked the highway, overran police stations, and confiscated a large cache of weapons. The Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), a separatist armed group, later claimed responsibility for that operation.
