Body of Abducted Child Found in Balochistan, One Killed, One Injured in Kech Firing Incidents

Quetta / Kech: The mutilated body of a minor, Masroor Khan Kakar, who was abducted last year from Quetta, has been recovered from the Isplinji area of Mastung, Balochistan. According to sources, the body was in a severely decomposed and disfigured state.

The remains have been handed over to the family, and burial rites have been performed. However, the family has stated that they will only confirm the identity of the child after receiving conclusive results from the DNA test.

Family sources said government officials informed them that during a counter-terrorism operation, authorities recovered a mobile phone belonging to a killed militant. The phone contained a blood-soaked photo of a child, which led to a targeted operation in Isplinji, where the body was later found.

During a joint press conference, DIG Aitzaz Ahmed Goraya and the spokesperson for the Balochistan government claimed that the abduction was carried out by members of the banned terror group ISIS. Two of the three identified kidnappers were reportedly Afghan nationals. ISIS had allegedly demanded a $12 million ransom for the child’s release.

According to the DIG, Masroor Khan was killed during a raid on an ISIS camp. His body was transferred to a hospital on June 23, where DNA samples were collected. Initial forensic reports suggest the body is indeed that of Masroor Khan.

It is worth noting that the family last had contact with the kidnappers during the holy month of Ramadan, after which all communication ceased.

Separate Incidents in Kech

In a separate incident, the bullet-riddled body of a man was found near Zubaida Jalal Road in Mirabad, Tump tehsil of Kech. According to Levies forces, the deceased was identified as Qaim Ali, son of Muhammad Hayat, a resident of Asia Abad, Tump. Eyewitnesses reported that the body was discovered in a deserted area along the roadside, bearing multiple gunshot wounds. The motive behind the killing remains unknown.

Another incident occurred in the Menaz area of Buleda tehsil, Kech, where a man identified as Abdullah, son of Noor Bakhsh, was injured in a shooting by unidentified assailants near Menaz Bazaar. He was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
