
The families of the missing persons from Killi Dato in Mastung have stated that in the early hours of May 24, 2025, around 3 AM, personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC) and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) raided their home, violating the sanctity of privacy, and detained Abid Hussain, son of Muhammad Zaman, along with his brother. While his brother was released en route, Abid Hussain remains missing to this day.
According to the families, they held a 10-hour sit-in protest at Shaheed Ghulam Ali Chowk on the Quetta-Karachi highway. Following the protest, ADC Muhammad Afzal Sarparah gave a written assurance that Abid Hussain would be released within four days and that all confiscated belongings, including four mobile phones, would be returned. However, this promise has not been fulfilled.
The ordeal worsened when, on June 22, 2025, Ghulam Ali, son of Abdul Hakeem Baloch also a resident of Killi Dato was forcibly disappeared from Quetta’s Jinnah Town.
The families said, “We are pleading for the safe return of two young men from the same family. If there are any charges against them, they should be presented in court. Otherwise, they must be released immediately.”
They warned that if their loved ones are not recovered, they will be forced to indefinitely block the Quetta-Karachi highway.
