In the village of Kohad, located in the Tump tehsil of Kech district, local women apprehended three armed men who had allegedly entered the area with the intention of killing a local young man.
A video that went viral on social media shows the three men with their hands tied, surrounded by a crowd. They are accused of being involved in an attempt to kill Tanveer Nazar, a resident of Tump Kohad. The video also shows scenes of violence against the suspects, and one of them can be seen making a confession, detailing his journey from Nasirabad to Kohad and arrival at Tanveer Nazar’s house.
According to eyewitnesses, the women found the men suspicious and managed to capture them along with their weapons. The arrested individuals later confessed to planning the murder. Local sources say that seven people have previously been shot and killed in Kohad village, and there is suspicion that these individuals are linked to that same series of killings.
The local population and some political groups have linked the arrested men to a state-backed group known in the area as the “Death Squad.”
A Kalashnikov rifle and a pistol were recovered from the suspects.
