The ongoing tension between Iran and Israel has escalated into a serious phase, with Iran launching large-scale missile and drone attacks, while Israel responded by targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities.
According to sources, Iran targeted Soroka Medical Center in BeerSheba on Wednesday night, causing significant damage to an old operating theater. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. More than 40 people were injured in attacks on other civilian locations.
In retaliation, the Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on Iran’s “Arak” heavy water reactor and nuclear facilities in Khondab. Israeli officials stated that there is no threat of radiation leakage.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Iran as a “brutal regime” and announced a strong response, while the defense minister declared that operations would continue until Iran’s downfall.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated the possibility of military action against Iran, though no final decision has been made yet. Russia has warned that any U.S. intervention could bring the world to the brink of nuclear catastrophe.
Several countries, including China, Egypt, and the European Union, have offered to mediate. Russia has labeled the situation as “dangerous” and called for immediate de-escalation.
The military actions by Iran and Israel have become a precursor to dangerous instability in the region. The role of the United States could prove to be a turning point, while global powers are warning of the risks of further intervention. Mediation efforts are ongoing, but a path to peace has yet to be established.
