The family of Abid Aziz, a law student at Balochistan University Pishin Campus and a resident of Khuzdar, has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the authorities for his release, warning of protests if their demand is not met.
During a press conference, the family stated that Abid Aziz was forcibly disappeared on the night of June 13, 2025, around 9 PM, from the busy area of Balina Khattan in Khuzdar city by personnel of Pakistani state agencies.
According to the family, Abid, a young and unarmed student was returning home with his brother from Allama Muhammad Umar Deenpuri Library when armed, masked men forced him into a white Corolla vehicle, subjected him to physical abuse, and abducted him in front of eyewitnesses.
They emphasized that Abid is a hardworking and committed student who has never been involved in any illegal activity and has no criminal cases against him. His abduction, they said, is a grave violation of human rights and the law.
The family appealed to the Balochistan government, Ministry of Interior, superior judiciary, civil society, national and international human rights organizations, and the media to raise their voices for Abid Aziz’s immediate and safe release.
Issuing a 24-hour deadline to the state institutions, the family announced that if Abid is not released, they will resort to protest within the legal framework.
Concluding the press conference, the family expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and demanded immediate action to stop such practices and bring the perpetrators to justice.
