London: The UK chapter of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) staged a protest in front of 10 Downing Street today, marking 16 years since the enforced disappearance of Baloch student leader Zakir Majeed Baloch.
Zakir Majeed, a prominent and active member of the Baloch Student Organization-Azad (BSO-Azad), was forcibly disappeared on June 8, 2009, after reportedly being detained by Pakistani security forces. He remains missing to this day.
The protest drew attention to ongoing enforced disappearances in Balochistan and demanded justice for Zakir Majeed. His mother also participated in the demonstration, calling for her son’s safe recovery and accountability for those responsible.
