Sanjawi: One of the Victims Killed in Alleged Fake Encounter Identified as a Disappeared Person

In a recent incident in Ziarat district, Balochistan, where the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have killed seven individuals, one of the victims has been identified as a previously disappeared person.

In a brief statement, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) said that the forces claimed to have killed seven people in Choteer, Sanjawi. One of them has been identified as Gul Muhammad Marri, son of Ghulam Nabi, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared by the forces from Sanjawi on December 20, 2024.

According to the organization, details of Gul Muhammad Marri’s enforced disappearance were provided by his family and his case was also registered with the Commission on Missing Persons.

It is worth noting that Pakistani forces have been repeatedly accused of killing forcibly disappeared persons in staged encounters. Just last month, five individuals were reportedly killed in a similar alleged fake encounter in Duki.
