In the Khanoai Baba area of Pishin district, Balochistan, Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have killed nine armed individuals during an operation.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the deceased were wanted in various cases, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession. The spokesperson added that the operation was conducted based on intelligence reports and that the area has been completely cleared.
It is worth noting that just a few days ago, the CTD claimed to have killed five individuals during an operation in Duki. That incident was later exposed as a fake encounter, where previously forcibly disappeared persons were killed and their bodies dumped. Three of the victims were identified as missing persons.
Today’s operation has also raised doubts, as details about the slain individuals have not yet been made public. There is growing suspicion that this too may be a staged encounter, potentially involving the extrajudicial killing of previously disappeared persons.
