The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for killing an informant allegedly working for the Pakistani military in the Turbat Balochistan.
In a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, said its fighters carried out an armed attack in the Daanuk area of Turbat, targeting Aman, son of Ghulam, a resident of Gogdan. The BLA claims Aman was a key member of a death squad formed by the Pakistani military.
According to the BLA, Aman was recruited in 2020 and tasked with gathering intelligence on Baloch pro-independence fighters. The spokesperson stated that BLA’s intelligence wing had been tracking his activities for some time. Using this intelligence, BLA fighters established contact with Aman to lure him into a trap.
Jeeyand Baloch further stated that after failing to provide valuable intelligence, Aman publicly aligned himself with the military-backed death squads, becoming an active participant in operations involving house raids, enforced disappearances, and targeted killings in areas including Daanuk, Gogdan, Buleda, Shahi Tump, and surrounding regions. He was also allegedly involved in reconnaissance missions during VIP military movements.
The BLA claimed that the “Baloch National Court” had sentenced Aman to death for his involvement in crimes against the Baloch people, and that this sentence was carried out by BLA fighters.
The spokesperson concluded by confirming the group’s responsibility for the attack and warned that other identified members of the same death squad would also be targeted in the near future.
