PARIS; Baloch National Movement (BNM) Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch has condemned the enforced disappearance of Baloch Students Organization (BSO) Chairman Jiand Baloch, sharing his statement on the social media platform X.
In his statement, Dr. Naseem Baloch said that the enforced disappearance of Jiand Baloch by the Pakistani military for the third time is another act of aggression and part of the systematic repression of Baloch students and their leadership. He said Jiand Baloch has previously endured enforced disappearance and torture on two prior occasions and noted that former BSO Vice Chairman Babul Malik, who was earlier abducted, remains missing to this day.
Dr. Naseem Baloch said this is not an isolated incident but part of a long-standing policy aimed at silencing politically active Baloch students and denying them their fundamental right to education and free expression. He said this pattern stretches back decades, recalling that in 2005, he, along with Dr. Allah Nazar and other student colleagues, was forcibly disappeared and subjected to torture. He said the same practices continue today against a new generation of students, citing the enforced disappearances of Jiand Baloch, Babul Malik Baloch, former Chairman of the Baloch Students Council Bahawalpur, Zubair Baloch, and other students.
He said these repeated actions reveal a deliberate effort to intimidate Baloch students, suppress their voices, and prevent the emergence of educated and independent leadership.
Dr. Naseem Baloch called on the international community, the United Nations, human rights organizations, and democratic governments to take urgent notice of these violations, demand the immediate release of Jeeyand Baloch and others, and hold Pakistan accountable for its continued use of enforced disappearances and torture against Baloch students and activists.
