Mastung, Balochistan: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has condemned the extrajudicial killing of Muhammad Amir, a young resident of Killi Kariz Sur, Mastung. According to BYC, Muhammad Amir, son of Dil Murad, was forcibly taken from his home by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel on the eve of Eid ul-Fitr and shot dead within five minutes of the raid, without any warrant or explanation.
The BYC said that after the killing, FC personnel withheld the body for approximately 12 hours before returning it to the family. Upon its return, the family was forced to sign an unlawful stamp paper document without being allowed to read its contents. Several illiterate elders from the area were also made to sign the same document without the opportunity to have it read aloud. The family has stated that they disavow any content in the document that goes against their interests.
Muhammad Amir’s mother expressed deep sorrow, saying she had raised her children through years of hardship and struggle, only to lose her son in a matter of moments. She asked: “Do we raise our children for this so that anyone can barge into our homes like thugs and kill them? We have become so unprotected that no one safeguards us.”
The BYC stated that this operation reflects a systematic pattern of state violence against the Baloch people, often followed by efforts to suppress accountability. They warned that the situation in Balochistan worsens with each passing day, while the silence of the international community in the face of such killings is deeply alarming.
The committee has appealed to international organizations and human rights defenders to take immediate action and stand with the Baloch people in their struggle for justice.
