KARACHI: As part of its month-long awareness campaign, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) successfully held a seminar in Karachi to highlight ongoing human rights violations and the continued detention of BYC leadership.
The campaign was launched in response to the persistent targeting of independent voices in Balochistan, misuse of legal mechanisms to suppress democratic activism, and a broader pattern of systemic repression. Its goals include amplifying the voices of affected families, raising public awareness and mobilizing collective action for justice and accountability.
During the seminar, speakers and attendees discussed the human cost of state policies, including the suffering of families of forcibly disappeared individuals and those living under uncertainty and collective trauma. The detention of BYC leaders such as Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Bebarg Baloch, Sibghatullah Shah Ji, Gulzadi Baloch, and Beebow Baloch was highlighted as a stark example of the repression faced by those advocating peacefully for constitutional and human rights.
Participants stressed that the release of detained leaders and the restoration of political freedoms are fundamental rights. The seminar reinforced the BYC’s commitment to peaceful advocacy, sustained public engagement and continued pressure for accountability.
The BYC emphasized that the struggle for justice, transparency and human rights in Balochistan will continue until these objectives are achieved.
