Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that its second phase of “Operation Herof” continued for more than 35 hours across multiple districts of Balochistan, with fighters maintaining positions in several areas despite ongoing counter-operations by Pakistani security forces.
In a statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters retained “strong control” in parts of Quetta, Nushki and other areas of Balochistan, asserting that Pakistani military and administrative presence had been pushed back in those locations. He claimed that the situation on the ground remained fluid and that clashes were still ongoing in Balochistan with enemy forces.
The BLA further claimed that at least 150 personnel belonging to the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and police had been killed during the operation, while military and administrative infrastructure suffered “severe damage.” The group described these figures as preliminary, stating that final casualty numbers would be released after receiving complete field reports. Pakistani authorities have not confirmed these claims.
According to the statement, the BLA released Deputy Commissioner Nushki Muhammad Hussain Hazara and Assistant Commissioner Maria Shamoo, who were detained during fighting in the district on Saturday. The group said the officials were freed on what it described as “humanitarian grounds,” reiterating its position that it does not target civil administration officials unless they actively resist its fighters.
The spokesperson warned police, Levies and other local officials against cooperating with Pakistani security forces, claiming those who do so would be treated “as combatants.” He also urged civilians to remain cautious, alleging that public support had played a “key role” in the continuation of the operation.
