Karachi: A man identified as Zahid Barakzai has reportedly been forcibly disappeared in Karachi, with his family accusing Pakistani security forces of detaining him without due process.

According to family members, Zahid Barkzai was taken from his home during the early hours of January 27, between 2:00 and 2:30 a.m., by plainclothes personnel who later moved him to an unknown location. The family said those involved identified themselves as members of security agencies but did not present an arrest warrant or provide any legal justification for the detention.

Relatives said no case has been registered against Barakzai and described him as innocent. They have appealed to state authorities to ensure his immediate and safe recovery and to make his whereabouts public.

The family said the disappearance has caused severe mental distress and called on authorities to either release Barkzai or, if he is accused of any offence, produce him before a court in accordance with the law.
