QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said one of its fighters died following a landmine blast during a patrol in the Mand area of Balochistan, as enemy forces planted the explosive device.

In a statement issued by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the group said that Jalil Baloch, also known as Jorak, was critically injured on January 23 when a landmine detonated on a route used by BLF fighters during an organizational patrol. The landmine had been planted by “enemy forces.”

According to the statement, Jalil Baloch was being transferred to a safe location for medical treatment when he succumbed to his injuries.

The BLF said Jalil Baloch, son of Munir Ahmed and a resident of Dizder Dasht, joined the group in August 2023 and was part of its urban network and intelligence wing. He was later transferred to a camp in October 2024, where he continued his duties.

The group said it paid tribute to the fighter and reaffirmed its commitment to its stated political objectives.
