Hub: Family Holds Press Conference Against Enforced Disappearance of Woman, Demands Recovery

The family of a woman who was forcibly disappeared after being taken into custody by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies from Hub Chowki has demanded her immediate recovery and justice.

Speaking at a press conference at the Hub Lasbela Press Club, relatives of the disappeared woman said that Fatima bint Muhammad Qasim was forcibly taken from her home in Akram Colony on 13 January. Fatima’s brother told reporters that despite the passage of several days, the family has not been informed of her whereabouts or the charges under which she has been detained.

The family stated that they are permanent residents of Hub Chowki and that local residents can testify that their family has no involvement in any illegal activities. They demanded that if Fatima is accused of any wrongdoing, she should be produced before a court in accordance with the constitution and law.

The family appealed to the Pakistani government, judiciary, and relevant authorities to take immediate steps for Fatima’s recovery and to ensure justice.
