Hub Chowki: Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies have allegedly forcibly disappeared Professor Shafiq Zehri, the father of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Mahzeb Baloch, according to local sources.

Reports from Hub state that Professor Shafiq Zehri was taken into custody earlier today from a Civic Center in Hub Chowki, where he was present for work, and was subsequently forcibly disappeared. Witnesses allege that Pakistani forces and intelligence personnel were involved in the incident.

Professor Shafiq Zehri is a Political Science professor at Zehri College. He is also the elder brother of Rashid Hussain Baloch, a Baloch activist who has been forcibly disappeared since 2018, and whose whereabouts remain unknown. Notably, Professor Shafiq Zehri himself was also subjected to enforced disappearance in 2013.

Rashid Hussain Baloch was reportedly detained in the United Arab Emirates seven years ago and later transferred to Pakistan, after which he has not been seen or heard from publicly.
