The Jaffar Express service from Quetta to Peshawar has been suspended. Railway officials confirmed that passengers will receive a full refund for their tickets.
According to source, the suspension follows an explosion on the train yesterday that left six carriages derailed, one of which overturned. At least 12 passengers were slightly injured, according to Levies officials. Authorities said restoration work on the damaged track and removal of the derailed carriages is still underway.
The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the train was targeted with a remote-controlled bomb in Mastung’s Dasht area. The group alleged that Pakistani army personnel were among the casualties, though officials have not confirmed this.
