The Rainy Season Begins in Balochistan, Flash Floods Claim 4 Lives

The rainy season has begun in Balochistan, bringing heavy rains that have caused flash floods across various regions. The torrential downpours have disrupted daily life, inundated roads, and inflicted severe damage on standing crops.

In the Sliyaza stream area of Zhob, four people including a woman, lost their lives after being swept away by flash floods. The deceased include a 32-year-old woman, two young women aged 24 and 18 and a 7-year-old girl. All bodies have been recovered.

In Bela and surrounding areas, early rainy season showers triggered severe flooding, paralyzing life in several villages. Among the affected villages are Goth Ismailani, Goth Kamacha, Goth Warayani, Goth Wada Chhatani, Miaraka Goth Haji Yaqoob, Miaraka Goth Jaman Bhent and Goth Shali Bhent. All connecting roads to these villages have been washed away.

In the mountainous regions of Khost and its surroundings in Harnai, swollen streams have caused further damage. A high-level flood wave surged through the Zard Aalu Khost stream, but rescue teams successfully saved three people who were trapped.

Meanwhile, the rainy season has also started in Quetta, where several roads were submerged, causing major disruptions in transportation and hardship for commuters.
