Kech: Two Youths Forcibly Disappeared by Pakistani Forces and Intelligence Agencies

KECH, BALOCHISTAN: Pakistani forces and intelligence personnel have allegedly forcibly disappeared two young men from the Sari Kahn area of Turbat, the main city in Kech district.

According to local sources, one of the victims has been identified as Tahseen Kareem, who was previously subjected to enforced disappearance by Pakistani Rangers on February 11, 2022, in Karachi. He remained missing for four to five months before being presented in court and is still facing legal proceedings.

The latest incident occurred when Tahseen and his brother Haleefa were detained by the security forces. The forces reportedly raided their home, vandalized household belongings, confiscated mobile phones from women and children, and subjected both brothers to physical assault before taking them to an undisclosed location.

Enforced disappearances by Pakistani security agencies remain a persistent issue in Balochistan, with reports of individuals being abducted on a near-daily basis across the province. Human rights organizations continue to express concern over the systematic targeting of civilians without due process or legal accountability.
