Quetta (Shaal): The family of Ghani Baloch has demanded his immediate release, stating that if he is accused of any crime, he should be presented before a court of law. They called on human rights organizations, political parties, and student bodies to play their role in securing his release.
Speaking at a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Thursday, the family said that Ghani Baloch is an MPhil scholar in Brahui literature, a researcher, translator, publisher, and a peaceful activist.
They reported that Ghani Baloch was disappeared on May 25 while traveling from Quetta to Karachi, with the abduction taking place near Khuzdar. Law enforcement officials, without presenting any warrant, took him into custody, and no information has since been provided about his whereabouts or condition.
The family appealed to the state of Pakistan and the concerned authorities to immediately present Ghani Baloch in court. If any charges exist against him, legal action should be pursued according to the law; otherwise, he should be released so they can be relieved from this mental torment.
They also urged human rights organizations, political parties, and student unions to raise a strong voice for Ghani Baloch’s recovery and play an active role in this regard.
