BLA Claims Full Control of Surab City

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has reportedly taken full control of the strategically important city of Surab in Balochistan.

In a brief statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeand Baloch announced that the organization’s fighters have seized complete control of Surab. According to the statement, the fighters have taken over key government installations including a bank, the Levies station, and the police station. Checkpoints and patrols are also being carried out on the main Quetta-Karachi highway and the Surab-Gidar road.

Local sources report that on Friday evening, a large number of armed fighters launched a coordinated attack on various government buildings in the city. Several security personnel were reportedly detained, and some government vehicles were set ablaze.

So far, there has been no official statement from authorities regarding the incident.

In recent years, such attacks have intensified across Balochistan. Since last year, there has been a noticeable increase in incidents where Baloch insurgents temporarily seize control of key areas or highways.

The growing frequency of these events reflects a weakening grip of the Pakistani military in Balochistan, while the influence of Baloch insurgents appears to be strengthening. This situation underscores the ineffectiveness of Pakistan’s current strategy in the region, as pro-independence forces become increasingly assertive.
