The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani army post in the district of Dukki, Balochistan.
In a statement released on December 7, 2024, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the attack was carried out on the night of December 6th.
The statement alleges that BLA fighters used a grenade launcher to target the Pakistani army post, resulting in the deaths of four soldiers and injuries to six others.
The BLA identified two of the killed soldiers as Sepoy Abu Sufyan from Bahawalpur and Sepoy Ehsanullah from Rahim Yar Khan.
Following the attack, the BLA fighters reportedly withdrew safely, while the Pakistani army responded with indiscriminate firing and mortar shelling.
The BLA has been fighting for an independent Balochistan for decades. The group has intensified its attacks on Pakistani security forces in recent years, especially in the restive Balochistan province.
