
QUETTA: The family of a man subjected to enforced disappearance held a press conference in Quetta, calling on authorities to disclose his whereabouts and ensure his safe recovery.
Speaking to journalists, the wife of Muhammad Siddique Langov stated that her husband was taken into custody by security forces on the night of April 7 from their residence in Killi Ismail, Quetta. She claimed that since then, he has been forcibly disappeared and the family has received no information regarding his location or condition.
She said the prolonged uncertainty has caused severe distress to the family, adding that they remain unaware of whether he is safe.
Highlighting constitutional rights, she stated that every citizen is entitled to due process, justice and lawful treatment. She described the detention without legal proceedings as a serious violation of the Constitution of Pakistan and fundamental human rights.
During the press conference, she urged authorities and judicial institutions to clarify her husband’s status. She demanded that if any charges exist, he should be presented before a court of law, and if not, he should be released immediately.
She also described the emotional toll on the family, particularly on their children, who continue to ask about their father’s whereabouts.
