
QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks carried out across multiple areas of Balochistan, stating that eight military personnel were killed, several others wounded, police weapons and a vehicle were seized and mobile communication towers were set ablaze.
In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that the group’s fighters ambushed a convoy of eight vehicles belonging to the Pakistani army in the Ahori area of Awaran. He stated that fighters simultaneously targeted the front and rear vehicles using rocket launchers, sniper rifles and automatic heavy weapons to restrict movement. According to the claim, three vehicles were destroyed, resulting in five personnel killed on the spot and four seriously wounded.
The statement further said that on April 11, 2026, BLF fighters targeted a Frontier Corps Bomb Disposal Squad in the Kuncheti Cross area of Dasht using a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED). The vehicle’s front section was reportedly destroyed, killing all three personnel on board.
On the same day, the group claimed that its urban guerrilla unit carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Shadeni area of Punjpai, Quetta. According to the statement, three plainclothes police personnel involved in extortion at a roadside checkpoint were apprehended. Their official weapons and vehicle were confiscated and they were later released after a warning.
The BLF also stated that on April 12, 2026, its fighters carried out an operation in the Aminabad area of Chagai, where they attacked and took control of a police post, seizing weapons and equipment. A similar operation was reportedly conducted in the Karoduk area of Chagai, where another police post was taken over and weapons were seized.
According to the statement, fighters imposed a blockade on a main highway in the area for approximately one hour, maintaining control and conducting checks before withdrawing with the seized equipment.
The group further claimed that on April 11, its fighters targeted a mobile communication tower in the Takhda area of Barkhan, damaging equipment and setting fire to the control room. Another tower in the Kotu area of Jhao was also reportedly destroyed on April 8. Additionally, the group claimed that on March 15, a mobile tower in the Parwar Badhdo area of Mashkay was set ablaze, targeting key components to disrupt communications.
The BLF claimed responsibility for all these operations, stating that eight personnel were killed and several others wounded across the attacks. It also claimed the destruction of a bomb disposal vehicle, the seizure of police weapons and a vehicle in Quetta and Chagai and the disruption of communication infrastructure.
