Quetta: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan has completed 6,054 days. The protest, led by the organization’s chairman Nasrullah Baloch, continues outside the Quetta Press Club.

Families of forcibly disappeared individuals Mitha Khan Marri and Nasreena Baloch participated in the protest and recorded their demonstration. They appealed to senior authorities to ensure the recovery of Nasreena Baloch and Mitha Khan Marri. The families demanded that if any charges exist against them, they should be brought before the public and presented in court so they may be spared further suffering and anguish.

Meanwhile, individuals from various walks of life also visited the protest camp to express solidarity. They demanded an immediate end to enforced disappearances and called for the recovery of missing persons, particularly Baloch women.

Speaking on the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch said that enforced disappearances constitute a serious violation of human rights and the country’s laws. He stated that the enforced disappearance of a person causes immense mental stress and suffering to the entire family, leaving their lives paralyzed.

He urged senior authorities to address the issue of enforced disappearances on humanitarian grounds, calling for an immediate end to enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. He further demanded that all forcibly disappeared persons be brought before the public and granted their legal right to due process, so their families can be relieved of lifelong pain and suffering.
