Quetta: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for a series of actions, including a highway blockade and attacks on Pakistani forces, in the Bolan and Mand areas on December 21.

In a statement issued to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that BLF fighters carried out a blockade on the Quetta–Sibi main highway in the Sirajabad area of Bolan on Sunday afternoon. According to the statement, vehicles were stopped and searched for more than an hour.

The spokesperson claimed that during the blockade, a quadcopter was launched from a nearby Pakistani military camp to monitor the fighters’ movements. He said the drone was shot down by BLF fighters positioned in the surrounding mountains. He further stated that Pakistani ground forces attempted to advance toward the blockade site but were attacked by BLF fighters lying in ambush, forcing them to retreat.

Major Gwahram Baloch added that during the blockade, no individuals affiliated with state institutions or alleged informers were detained, and that Baloch civilians were treated respectfully.

According to the statement, on the same day at around 2:30 pm, BLF fighters also attacked a Pakistani forces outpost located at Barth, between the Azian and Doukop areas of Mand. The outpost was targeted with heavy weapons for approximately half an hour.

The spokesperson said that Pakistani forces responded by deploying two quadcopters to locate BLF fighters and conduct strikes. He claimed that one of the drones was shot down, while the second retreated. Surveillance and monitoring equipment at the outpost was also reportedly damaged during the attack.

The BLF claimed that Pakistani forces suffered casualties and material losses in both incidents. The organization formally accepted responsibility for the highway blockade and the attacks on Pakistani forces in Bolan and Mand.
