Quetta: Former Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Khalil Baloch, has described the death of veteran human rights activist Mama Qadeer Baloch as an irreparable loss for the Baloch nation, saying that his passing marks the end of a defining standard of resistance.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Khalil Baloch said that Mama Qadeer Baloch was not merely a slogan but a representative of sustained resistance and political steadfastness. He said that Mama Qadeer transformed the grave state crime of enforced disappearances into a well-organized, continuous, and dignified struggle that gained international recognition.

Khalil Baloch stated that Mama Qadeer’s politics were not based on compromise with centers of power but on the restoration of freedom and dignity for the oppressed. He added that Mama Qadeer turned human rights advocacy into a practical struggle through long marches, sit-ins, and constant presence on the ground.

According to the statement, Mama Qadeer’s struggle demonstrated that even under domination, nations can expose state repression through principled positions and persistent resistance. Khalil Baloch said Mama Qadeer proved this through his lifelong commitment to the cause.

He further said that with Mama Qadeer’s death, it is not just an individual who has departed, but a benchmark of political and moral resistance. Khalil Baloch emphasized that responsibility now lies with all political and social forces that speak of national freedom, an end to enforced disappearances, accountability, and justice.

The former BNM chairman said that the most meaningful way to pay tribute to Mama Qadeer Baloch is to keep alive the principles he established steadfastness, refusal to compromise with oppressive power, and continuous resistance within political practice.
