Baloch Woman, Brother Forcibly Disappeared in Dalbandin; Baloch Women Forum Demands Immediate Release

BWF

Dalbandin: The Baloch Women Forum (BWF) has strongly condemned the enforced disappearance of a 22-year-old woman, Rahima Rahim and her 18-year-old brother, Zubair Rahim, who were reportedly taken into custody by security personnel during a late-night raid in Dalbandin and shifted to an undisclosed location.

In a statement issued by its central spokesperson, the Baloch Women Forum said the siblings were detained last night from Zahoor Colony, Dalbandin, through what it described as an illegal raid. Since their detention, there has been no information about their whereabouts, causing serious concern among family members and local residents.

The forum stated that following the disappearance, residents of the area blocked the main road in protest, demanding the safe and immediate release of the brother and sister and seeking accountability for what they termed a criminal and unethical act. The protesters have also called on the authorities to clarify the fate of the missing siblings.

The Baloch Women Forum rejected enforced disappearances in all forms, particularly the targeting of Baloch women. It said that such actions represent a grave violation of fundamental human rights and Baloch cultural values. The forum expressed serious concern over what it described as an increasing trend of enforced disappearances of women, warning that such practices appear to be gradually normalized.

The statement further said that illegal raids, civilian victimization and human rights abuses have become common, adding that silence over such acts only emboldens those involved. The forum warned that failure to respond collectively to these incidents could further endanger Baloch women.

The Baloch Women Forum demanded the immediate, safe and unconditional release of Rahima Rahim and Zubair Rahim and called for strict legal action against the security personnel allegedly involved in their detention. It also expressed solidarity with the protesting residents of Dalbandin and urged supporters to join the protests on the ground or amplify the issue through social media.
