
Quetta: Amid growing security concerns, public transport services have been suspended in several cities of Balochistan, while authorities have issued threat alerts across multiple districts.
According to a notification issued by the Balochistan Home Department, mobile 3G and 4G internet services will remain suspended in 36 districts of the province from 10 to 16 November 2025.
The affected districts include Quetta, Gwadar, Chaman, Khuzdar, Turbat, Kalat, Lasbela, Mastung, Naseerabad, Sibi, Zhob, Harnai, Panjgur, Kech, Kachhi, Surab, Kohlu, Duki, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Barkhan, Awaran, Jaffarabad, Musakhail, Kharan, Ziarat, Dalbandin, Nushki, Usta Muhammad, Washuk, Bolan, Jhal Magsi, Hub, and Dera Bugti.
Officials said the measure has been taken on the recommendation of security agencies to avert possible terrorist threats during the week.
The suspension of internet services has severely impacted ordinary citizens, students, businesses, and media organizations. Civil society groups have criticized the move, calling it a restriction on the public’s right to access information.
Meanwhile, in Khuzdar’s Naal tehsil, all banks have been temporarily closed due to security concerns.
