Khuzdar: Clashes between Pakistani forces and armed groups have been ongoing for a second day in Khuzdar district of Balochistan. According to local sources, helicopters were seen flying over the Anjeera and Gazan areas and shelling was also carried out from helicopters at several locations.
Regional sources reported that mortars were also fired by the Pakistani forces, though no casualties have been confirmed so far.
Reports suggest that yesterday Pakistani forces faced strong resistance when they attempted to advance into the Anjeera area in a convoy of ten vehicles. Sources claim that four of the forces’ vehicles were hit during the attack.
It is noteworthy that since August, the influence of armed Baloch groups has increased in Zehri town and surrounding areas. Reports have emerged of armed men being present during checkpoints and patrols in various locations.
A few days ago, the Pakistani army carried out operations in two separate areas of Zehri using drones and jet aircraft. According to local sources, civilians were targeted in these bombings, including women and children.
So far, no group has issued a statement regarding these incidents.
