In Mastung, Balochistan, 16-year-old student Ehsan Shah was killed by firing from Frontier Corps (FC) personnel. His mother has announced a protest rally and the establishment of a protest camp on August 16 to demand justice for her son’s extrajudicial killing.
In a press conference, she said that Ehsan Shah was a bright and hopeful young boy who, just four days before Eid, had gone to Quetta to buy clothes and shoes for his younger siblings. On his way back to Mastung, joy turned into grief due to state violence.
She explained that at Lak Pass, FC personnel opened indiscriminate fire on Ehsan Shah and his friend without any warning or signal to stop. Ehsan Shah was killed on the spot. According to family members, he was unarmed, peaceful and an ordinary citizen.
His mother emphasized that this was not an accident but a clear case of extrajudicial killing. She added that despite pursuing all possible legal channels, justice has not been served. The mother of Ehsan Shah has declared that on August 16, she will lead a rally and set up a protest camp against this unlawful killing.
