A deadly armed attack took place on August 1 in Balochistan’s Panjgoor, where at least 20 Pakistani soldiers were killed. According to sources, a large group of armed men stormed three military checkposts simultaneously, successfully taking control of two of them.
The attackers reportedly killed all stationed personnel and took away weapons and other military equipment from the seized posts. Local sources confirm the scale of the attack, although Pakistan’s military spokesperson (ISPR) has not yet issued any official statement regarding the incident.
Following the assault, drones and helicopters were seen patrolling the area and shelling was reported in different locations nearby.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. However, such large-scale operations in the region have previously been claimed by pro-independence Baloch armed groups.
