Khuzdar: Mir Bashir Ahmed, the father of Dr. Sabiha Baloch, was released on August 2 after being forcibly disappeared. The news was confirmed by Dr. Sabiha herself in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
She shared that although she cannot meet him at the moment, just knowing he is safe has brought her peace.
In her emotional statement, Dr. Sabiha called enforced disappearance the “worst form of oppression,” saying, “I had felt this pain even before it reached my own doorstep and when it finally did, I could not stay silent.”
She expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported her and her family during this difficult time and she also prayed for the safe return of all other forcibly disappeared individuals.
She said that “This injustice must end, Enforced disappearance is one of the worst forms of collective punishment and no family should ever have to go through this pain.”
Dr. Sabiha Baloch stressed that the fight against enforced disappearances is not only legal and constitutional but also a human responsibility that must continue.
