Islamabad police once again stopped members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and families of missing persons from entering the National Press Club, where they had gathered to demand the release of detained BYC leadership and other missing persons.
Among the protesters were prominent human rights activist Imaan Zainab Mazari and other Human Right activsits. They joined the sit-in, which has now entered its fifth consecutive day.
Speaking at the protest, Iman Mazari criticized the state’s response, saying, “It is shameful that the state fears Baloch women and children. They are being denied their constitutional right to protest.”
She Further said that they have been surrounded by Islamabad police since the demonstrations began, with authorities blocking their access to the press club and attempting to prevent their voices from being heard.
