Islamabad: The sit-in protest by the families of enforced disappearance victims and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee continues into its second day in Islamabad. Despite heavy rain and harsh weather conditions, women, elderly individuals, and children remain at the protest site, demanding the safe return of their loved ones.
Protesters state that they have not been permitted to set up tents or shelters, forcing them to sit under the open sky, which has added to their suffering.
Meanwhile, several key members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, actively involved in raising awareness about enforced disappearances have been arrested from Balochistan in recent months. These include Dr. Mah Rang Baloch, Beebagr Baloch, Sabghatullah Shah Ji, Gulzadi Baloch, and other activists. Their families allege that these individuals are being held without formal charges or legal proceedings, and some have reportedly been subjected to torture.
The protestors are demanding that all missing persons be presented before the courts and that detained leaders be granted justice in accordance with the law.
