Kolwah: Body of Enforced Disappearance Victim Ghulam Jan Found, School teacher Sanaullah Baloch in Critical Condition After Alleged Torture

Kolwah, Awaran : In another disturbing incident in Balochistan’s Awaran, the body of a man who was reportedly subjected to enforced disappearance was found riddled with bullets, while a local schoolteacher remains in critical condition after allegedly being tortured by armed operatives linked to Pakistan’s security forces.

According to local sources, on the night of July 13, state-backed death squads operating under the supervision of the Pakistani military abducted two individuals from separate locations in the Kolwah area.

One of the victims has been identified as Sanaullah Baloch, a schoolteacher and son of Karim Dad, from Killi Kolwah, and the second as Ghulam Jan, son of Bajar, a resident of Paho, Awaran.

Teacher Tortured, Released in Critical State

Sources report that Sanaullah Baloch was forcibly taken from his home late last night by an armed group allegedly backed by the military. He was later released after being subjected to severe torture, and his condition is said to be extremely critical.

Ghulam Jan Killed, Body Dumped Hours After Abduction

Meanwhile, Ghulam Jan was reportedly detained extrajudicially from his residence in Karkain Khad, Kolwah by the same armed group. A few hours later, his bullet-ridden body was found dumped in the Killi area.

Family members stated that Ghulam Jan originally belonged to the Paho mountain region in southern Awaran, but his family had been forcibly displaced by security forces from their native area.

Fifth Extrajudicial Killing in Kolwah in a Month

This incident marks the fifth reported extrajudicial killing in Kolwah in the past month, allegedly at the hands of military-backed death squads. The ongoing operations have escalated concerns over state-led repression and human rights violations in the region
